Picture This #295 ~ Unique, Funny Or Odd

Thanks, Benni for choosing this whimsical theme. I didn't think that I had any photos that could match up to this challenge but I do.

The first one that I offer is one that I enhanced my snow covered car this winter.

Here's a fox asleep in the warm Arizona sun.

I spotted these cats of Good Fortune on Mulberry Street, NYC, known as "Little Italy"

My last shot is a statue on 7th Ave, NYC. It was known as the Garment District.

  1. Hi Robert !! Good to see you as a 'regular' again. You have some great photos for this week's fun theme. Your creative 'snow car' made me smile. Beautiful shot of the fox napping in the sun. I suppose the oddest thing about the third shot was finding Chinese 'good fortune cats' in Little Italy!! I like that sculpture in the final shot.

    1. Thank you, Mitch for your comments. I had to do something fun with all that snow. I don't know if the sleeping fox is an oddity or unique. The little fellow definitely loved his niche and blanket. The Chinese good fortune cats are a sign that Little Italy is shrinking in size. I thought that the statue should have been a woman since they were the garment workers.

  3. Hi Robert! First, congrats on your wonderful banner shot. It is a superb capture. I love your car. How creative. The picture of the fox is wonderful. He looks like he is sleeping on a blanket of some sort. What a warm and peaceful picture. Love the cats on Mulberry St., and the statue of the man sewing in the garment district. Very nice.

    1. Thank you for the compliment on the banner. I'm glad you liked these shots. I tried to match up with your theme. The statue of the man sewing should have been a woman because they were the garment workers. I liked the good fortune cats too.

    1. Thank you, Pat for your comments. I had to find amusement dealing with the snowfall on the car. I didn't think the photo of the fox would come out as good as it did. It was sunny and it wasn't overexposed. NYC is definitely a blend of cultures.

  6. Hi Robert! Thanks for sharing such nice shots for this week's theme... the top shot shows creativity and sense of humour... lovely fox having a nap... So many cats, all waving the hand to push consumers into shops. You know, in Japan and China, almost every shop, not to say all shops, have one of those cats at the entrance, as if they were calling buyers to get into the stores.... Nice bronze statue...
