Picture This #301 ~ Up Or Down

Isn't that banner picture stunning? A beautiful young woman with an enigmatic look.

I had fun with this theme, Belita. So much to choose from.

Icicles
Icicles hanging down.

Path to dunes
The wind creates a stairway to the dunes.

Florida tree
This tree, a relative of the banyan, sends roots down from the trunk into the ground. On the right you can see a brown root snaking down.

Wonderful pattern in the sand and the tree.

  2. Hi Benni! I must admit I blushed a bit when I read your words about the banner image...Many thanks!
I have been awaiting with curiosity the selection of photos from you. As a matter of fact, they have exceeded my expectation in beauty and composition. I particularly like the simple subject for the minimalist shot on the top, while the stairway-like created by a nature element is beautiful and so is the tree, the trunk of which is not familiar to me...

    1. How kind of you! I enjoyed looking through my pictures to find ones for this great theme. The tree is a Padanus Palm. It is not native to Florida.

  4. Hi Benni !! Terrific shots for Belita's theme. Beautiful shot of the icicles. Love the 'sand ripples' in your second shot. Really cool tree in your last shot, it looks like it's developed legs and is about to walk off!!! Day Of The Triffids, anyone??? LOL

  5. The icicle shot is really a moment in time, love it. The sand pattern from the wind is great, something I do not see in my part of the world. I have never seen a banyan tree, just heard of it. I love those exceptional things in nature. That would be something interesting to plant in my garden.

    1. Thank you, Pat! Very kind of you. I wonder if you could grow this tree in your garden; maybe if you could bring it in during the coldest part of the winter.
