Picture This #257 ~ Pairs

Greetings everyone!! This is Mitch, I'll be your host this week. My theme this week will be PAIRS. It can be pairs of anything you want. You'll see all of mine are wildlife or flower pairs, but that's only because the majority of my photography tends to be in those areas. I'm sure you'll come up with some really interesting shots!!

(Update: For those of you who use Flickr, in case you haven't noticed, they've changed the positions of all the icons and info for each photo again!! The 'share' icon is below and to the right of the photo, but be aware you might need to scroll the page down a little before it enables. Hope you find this helpful)

    1. Yes, the sheep did seem rather concerned by my presence!! LOL. The insects are hoverflies, not bees.

  3. Mongolian horses - love shot, something completely different. The water lillies are pefect, so detailed. I like the hoveflies, probably I would call them bees, but am not such an expert - good action shot. the sheep were probably worried about having their photo done - just curious.

    1. Thanks Pat :-)) The Mongolian horses (they are also known as Przewalski's Horse, named after a Russian geographer, although the reasons for this are not clear) are a breeding pair at a local wildlife park that are part of the program to preserve the breed and reintroduce it to it's native land.

  4. Wonderful shots, Mitch, my favorite is the water lilies. Both alike and different, one open and one just starting to bloom.

There was a place to give feedback to Flickr and you can believe I did.

    1. Thanks Benni :-)) I was attracted to those water-lilies by the mere fact that they don't usually grow that close together, so I liked the unusual positioning.

I've given feedback to Flickr every time they change something, but it doesn't seem to have any effect, they just go on tinkering with things anyway. Typical Yahoo behaviour. Harking back to the days of Yahoo 360....they rarely took notice of customer complaints, suggestions or feedback, so I don't expect them to be any different now. .

  5. Hi Mitch! Excellent choice of shots for the this week's theme. Although the horses are having their meal they look so much in love... beautiful pair! Awesome macro of the two beautiful water-lilies ... I see a smiling face inside one of them... Cute! Sharing the pollen by 50/50. I like this equality! I don't think they look worried but amazed by your excellent photographic equipment....

    1. Thanks Belita :-)) Yes, I think you are correct about the sheep. The one on the left is so amazed, it has stopped chewing with the clump of grass hanging out of the side of it's mouth!!! LOL.

  7. Hi Mitch, what a cool theme to explore. I love the sharpness of all your photos. The photo of the hoverflies is my favorite. The detail is excellent on the insects and the flower. One of the sheep looks frightened. Maybe it sensed your presence.
