Picture This #269 ~ Near And Far

Summer is almost finished. One of the last roses.
Dead Rose

Saw this from my porch last week, so had to take a photo.

Balloon over Estate, Feldbrunnen

Some lamas at the front, the village of Welschenrohr in the middle and in the background the Jura mountains

Llamas in Welschenrohr

  1. Hi Pat. That rose is a perfect symbol of a season going by too quickly. Love the balloon so colorful in the sky. Very nice pastoral scene on the bottom, with the animals in the foreground and the mountains far away.

  2. Hi Pat!! Three terrific shots for this week's theme. That rose is a perfect image to demonstrate the change of seasons currently in progress. Great capture of the hot-air balloon. I wonder if the occupants were taking a photo of you at the same time? Nice shot of the llamas, I wonder if one of the locals is starting a wildlife park? LOL.

    1. Lamas are in. Money is earnt by going on lama treks in the mountains. You see them everywhere at the moment.

    2. No kidding. I never would have thought of that. Wow, I'd love to go.

  3. Three nice shots for this week's theme. Love that rose... such as it is! I would never ride in a balloon like that.... very simple composition which makes the colours of the hot balloon look vibrant against the blue sky... Love the shot of the llamas... no complaints from cows?

  4. the last rose of summer cool
    love the hot air ballon

  5. Pat, nice images for this week's theme. The rose signifies the end of a season. Nice shot of the hot air balloon. Nice contrast against the blue sky. Great rural scene with the mountains in the background. Llamas are everywhere now. Wow. If they thrive in the Andes they can do as well in the Alps.

  6. Amazing macro

Come fly away in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon.

    Pastoral and wonderful

  7. Sad to see the last of the roses. Nice shot, Pat!

Nice capture of the hot air balloon. "Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon. Way up in the sky in my beautiful balloon" Remember that song?

Lovely shot of the llamas and the village. What are those big green things toward the right?
