STATUES OR SCULPTURES

Perhaps Rome’s most smile inducing sculpture that symbolizes strength and wisdomSTATUES OR SCULPTURES
Gregos is a French-born artist, whose sculptured faces are seen in  Paris, mainly. However, we can find them in many cities scattered all over the world. Each face is a sort of self-portrait of the day to express his humours... The one you see pictured below ( I would say looking concerned or in bad mood), was on the wall of the building next to the hotel where I stayed recently in Madrid. 1. Marvelous. I can't stop looking at your first shot, she is so beautiful, and wonderfully framed. To be able to make stone have the delicate textures of fabric and skin. Then I smiled at your two tots facing each other! Exquisite photo! The elephant is wonderful, he would bring a smile to my face as well. What an interesting way to express oneself by Gregos. Faces throughout the world. This one does look concerned and and I like the tight close-up shot you took.

  2. You really have some interesting sculptures, all so unique that I do not know where to begin. A mask, twins, an intersting lady and an elefant, each with its own charm. I just love them all.

  4. Hi Belita!!! A wonderful selection of photos for this week's theme. Fabulous detail in the sculpture of Pepita. Valera obviously put a lot of love into it. The two children facing each other on opposite balconies is unique. I love the elephant statue, it does make one smile. Gregos has captured a lot of character in his work, the expression is almost life-like. I wonder if he casts impressions of his face directly?
