Oh now I have a few to play with here. but this weekend I want to get out and this just sets me on a course to get some more. So I may change my post. But I will go with these to start out with. Really I won't change it, but will save it for another theme in the future.
Cemeteries, Crypts, Headstones
Well interesting as it is, there are a lot of them around here. This first couple are of Roslyn Washington. From the mid 1800s to the early 1900s. This was a mining town. You may remember my trip with the wasp sting while I was walking through this area. I do.
There are always reminders of how hard it was for the young. These have a special light in my heart. Trying times in the old days. Not like it isn't now too, just different I suppose.
Above or below, once its over, its over, so shoot everything while you can!

Budget burials in the Wild west. No it really is just something fun someone has on the roadside next to their house. At least that is what I think?

ReplyDeleteThat first headstone is interesting....it seems to be made of metal? The second one is a sad reminder of infant mortality. The last one made me smile. I guess he died with his boots on!! LOL.
Yeah that does not happen to often. I still plan on a few drives for shots this week. but had the shots I needed for this weeks theme already.

ReplyDeleteThe first is very lovely and I like the little flower at the base. A quite poignant child's grave; I always think of the heartache of the parents. And the last one is quite perfect!! Boot hill, great!!

Was the third picture from Boot Hill? The pictures are very good and depict the loneliness of the graveyard. the second is an interesting theme and the first an ineresting work.

ReplyDeleteLove them all, Randall, especially the last. Like the others, there's always such a sadness when I see a child's grave - the heartbreak the parents must have gone through. Very unusual gravemarker in the first. I don't think I've seen one like it.
