Picture This #228 ~ Natural Or Urban Decay
Lovely banner picture, something completely different.
Things do not really decay in Switzerland, they are pulled down and rebuilt or renovated, or put under monument conservation, but will see what I have in my archives.
Yesss, a walk into town a week or so ago, and I saw this so took a photo. The leaves of brown came tumbling down
I am definitely sure that the mouse was dead and had started to decay when I took the photo, after Bobinette the neighbour's cat had finished with it. I think she was deciding whether to eat it or not.
This used to be a thriving cemetary, as far as cemetaries thrive. Two generations of my mother's family were buried here and I often visited with her when I was a kid. At some time it was sold, the graves dug up and left. It is Woodgrange Cemetary near East Ham in London. I visited and this is part of what remains.

Many thanks to Baz for hosting this week's challenge. His chosen theme is a little bit different, but something I think many of us have photos for. When I saw the theme I immediately thought of quite a few shots in my archive.
1) This end-wall is all that remains of Dan -Y-Coed, the birthplace of Welsh composer William Penfro Rowlands. It sits in the shadow of the Llys-Y-Fran dam.
2) I saw this ramshackle old building in the middle of nowhere while travelling through the Mojave National Preserve with Joanne.
3) I saw this old neglected farmhouse on a cold frosty winter's day, just outside the Welsh village of Llandeilo.

Starting out with a shot looking across the Columbia River at Astoria. Some of the old pilings in the front along the Washington side of the river.
A shot of the shipwreck of the Peter Iredale in Warrenton Oregon.
Now one for Natural. One tree making way for another.

It took me a while to find something to add, but here they are:

Hi all, bAZ in the seat this week, thanks to Mitch for the invitation. Congratulations to Anders for a wonderful image selected as the header.
For the theme this week I tried for something we had never selected before, something a little out of the box!
So for this weeks theme I have chose "Natural and Urban Decay" LOL, have fun with it!!!!!!I selected these images to get the theme started, but you do not need to follow my lead, be creative and lets see some real imagination used this week;)
Have a wonderful weekend;)

Picture This #227 ~ Holiday Party Time
First of all congratulations Benni for the wonderful banner and Heidi thanks for hosting. Like Mitch I do not have such a selection of holiday photos. I do not really do Christmas, just for the others, and decorations are at a minimum. Also it seems I have already shown them all here over the years, so I will be digging around for something else.
My first photo was more coincidence. I was in town and they were hanging up the Christmas lights, so I took the first photo probably of the finished product on this house.
The main square in Solothurn, Switzerland at Christmas
Here is last year's Christmas Tree outside our local supermarket. The snow is genuine.

Congratulations, Benni, for the new banner...
These are my three contributions for this week's theme:
Table laid for a Christmas Eve dinner
Candlestick decorated
Every Christmas I make a different wreath.
This is already ready for the forthcoming Christmas.

PT CCXXVII ~ Holiday Party Time
Picture This #227 ~ Holiday Party Time
Many thanks to Heidi for hosting this week's challenge. Her theme is 'Holiday Party Time'. With Thanksgiving in the US just a few days away and Christmas hoving into sight over the horizon, the holiday season is just about upon us, and so is party time.
Not an easy theme for me, as I have almost no suitable shots for it!! I've had to think slightly out of the box.
For a party, you have to have......cakes!!
The most important ingredient of a party.......
And of course at Christmas, you have to have decorations.......

So honored and delighted to see my pelicans as banner picture. Thank you!
What a nice theme for this time of the year, Heidi. So much to do, so much to eat.

Christmas morning always starts with strong coffee, Anisette, and a pastry or two.
I celebrated my 60th birthday on the beach.

Picture This #226 ~ Alphabet Soup
Debby, what a great idea for a theme. And I really love your banner shot of lacy clouds and sky behind the web of branches.
I chose O-P-Q.
Here we have a truck carrying Oranges, taken as we passed it.
Pelicans, diving for fish in the light of dusk.
Queen Anne's Lace, a common flower around here, with a little beetle.

Thanks for hosting Debby - At my age 26 choices are almost too much, so I went for A, B and C
No. 1 taken last week in my garden - Autumn
They rebuilt part of the underground entrance to our station in Solothurn and moved the shops and restaurant to above ground level. It was converted into a bicycle park.
I was in Solothurn yesterday afternoon and took some photos. This is from the main street showing the Solothurn Cathedral
