Picture This #231 ~ Favourite Photos Of 2013

Hi everyone, this is Mitch, and I'll be your host for the final challenge of 2013. 'Picture This' will be taking a break for Christmas, so no theme will be posted on Saturday 28th December. We'll be back to normal on Saturday 4th January.

I wanted to avoid what everyone else is doing at this time of year, namely a Christmas theme, so instead I'm asking you to share some of your favourite photos you took in 2013. You can post up to 5 photos if you wish.

**** IMPORTANT NOTE***
If you use Flickr, when you go to grab the HTML code for each photo, please note there are now THREE options: 'Embed', 'HTML' and 'BBcode'. Mine had defaulted to 'Embed', had to change it back to 'HTML'. If you leave it set at 'Embed' it'll embed the set the photo is in, or even your photostream (you'll know if it has coz each photo will have forward/back arrows on either side of it).

Here are mine:

1) A Chaffinch, taken during my annual Spring trip to Bosherston Lily Ponds.
Male Chaffinch 6

2) Sleepy Meerkat, at Manor House Wildlife Park
Meerkat 4

3) Abandoned Hopi dwelling, Wupatki National Monument, Arizona
Box Canyon Dwelling 4

4) Calendula, taken at Aberglasny Gardens, Wales
Orange Beauty 1

5) Bumblebee on an Echinacea flower, Stackpole Mencap Gardens, Wales.
Bee 3

  2. Fabulous captures, love the seed in the chaffinch's mouth. The abandoned Hopi dwelling picture stirs my imagination; I have always loved that shot.

  5. Hi Mitch! All your shots are so fabulous that it must have been a hard task to choose the 5 favourites. Excellent choices, indeed!

    1. Thanks Belita :-)) Indeed it was difficult. I decided I want to post at least two shots that I've not posted before, which are the Meerkat and the Bee.

  6. That is a great theme to finish off a fantastic PT year, the very first one on Blogspot after Multiply closing.

May I take this opportunity to thank Mitch for steering the ship and keeping it steady. Well done, not an easy task to change everything over and to have to explain it all to the likes of me, who was totally ignorant in the world of cyber-land. Blogging was foreign, Flickr a nightmare and Picmonkey not co-operative. Patiently Mitch managed to steer us all into the right direction and look how far we have come.

To choose just 5 out of the many magnificent captures, you have shared with us this last year, must have been difficult. I normally keep a special album with my favourites, this year have not had time, so have to plough through the whole years captures. Will try my very best to post something, but no promises, I have a lot on my plate at the moment and trying to close year end and vat for the company too, plus do a stock take before we open again.

Wishing you all a Wonderful Christmas and a Fantastic New Year. Let 2014 roll on!
