  1. Hi Belita!! Three great choices for Debby's theme!! I love the roofs in the first shot, the candy-stripe sidings make them really colourful. The fruit in the second shot like delicious. Are they edible? They look a bit like a fruit I know as the Lychee. Beautiful blue glaze on the Tagines. Are they of Moorish origin?

  2. The fruit is edible but, in Portugal, it's commonly used to make brandy. Its not that soft as the Chinese lychee. Once it is peeled off, it's not whitish, either. You're right, they are from Morocco.
    Thanks for your kind comment.

  3. I forgot to add, the three photos were taken in Portugal. The top one pictures the typical houses in a fishing town up in the north of the country.

  7. Love the tiled roof. The red and white stripes are so dramatic. Makes me think of candy canes at Christmas. Very pretty!

I've never seen a strawberry tree before. Great shot! Interesting color and texture.

The Tagine units have a lovely blue glaze. I love the grain of the wood that they are sitting on, also. Have you ever eaten anything cooked in a tagine?

    1. Thanks, Deb! Tagine or Tajine pots, Moroccan people use both words, are used for a typical dish that is named after the clay pot in which it is cooked. All restaurants, in Morocco, serve this dish that can be made with meat, poultry, dish or even sweets. It's a bit spicy but good.

  8. Great pictures, Belita. I am struck not only by the tile roofs, but also by the stripes on the walls. The strawberry tree fruit are beautiful, exotic. I have never seen them before. And I just love the tangine units; like Debby, I wonder what something would be that was cooked in them.
