Picture This #236 ~ Trees And Anything They Produce

Congratulations to Anders for his photo being selected for the week. I love the warmth of the wall sconce.
I have some interesting photos to share with everyone. We had a winter storm today so my images go with the climate. I hope you enjoy them.

The first image was taken in an apple orchard several winters ago. These apples weren't harvested and they were snow covered.

I am stretching the interpretation of this theme with this next photo. A snow covered tree produces beauty.

Here is an interior shot of my orange tree. I move the tree inside in the winter. These two oranges have been on the tree for awhile. They never ripen.

  1. All three are great choices for the theme! I like the apples in the snow (nice color contrast). Beautiful tree in the snow and even though the orange is not ripe I bet the tree has a wonderful citrus scent :)

    1. Thanks Danette for selecting this theme. I thought that apples in the snow was unusual. The orange tree gives a wonderful scent when it blossoms. Unfortunately, the oranges fell off the tree. It doesn't do well indoors because of the heat.

  2. Beautiful apples and snowcovered branches. Pretty tree.

    1. Thank you Anders. I like your photo of the light on the wall. I am curious about the texture on the wall. Is that fabric?

    2. You're welcome, Robert. Indeed it is fabric

  3. Hi Robert!! It's good to see you taking part this week. Three good shots for Danette's theme!! I really like that first shot, it's such a rarity to see snow-covered apples still on the tree. I agree, the second shot shows the beauty of snow-covered trees. Good shot of your orange tree. How long have you had it?

  4. Thanks, Mitch. I don't know why these apples were overlooked by the harvesters. The snow has to be a wet snow to cling to the branches. I've had the orange tree for three years. These oranges grew from this past summer. I think that I should pick them. They will never ripen.

  5. I simply adore your frozen apples and I would probably have picked them after taking the photo, just for an apple pie :-)

The snow covered tree is indeed beautiful. Often I find beauty in a naked tree more than with its leaves on, such is one of our local Baobab Tree, which I did not post this time, as you have seen it all before, upside down tree.

I personally think, your orange tree is confused, try re-potting it, in a larger deeper pot with mulch and see what happens, but those oranges from last year is not going to ripen like that. I had one in a pot, that I eventually planted out and now are having oranges on in the summer.

  6. A very interesting photo of the frozen apples. Love the colour constrasts. Love the orange tree. I grew so many from pips, but never had oranges. The snow covered tree is a beautiful show of balance.

    1. Thank you, Pat. I'm pleased that everyone liked the photo of the frozen apples. Marianne suggested that I replant the orange tree in a deeper pot. The snow covered tree is a beautiful show of balance.

  7. Sorry I am late in responding. Your apple picture is astonishing! That happens here in Michigan occasionally, an early autumn snow that covers the fruit. Beautiful. Also lovely is your picture of the snow covered tree. An emblem of winter. I like your orange tree, you must get blossoms as well if you have unripe fruit. I love the fragrance. Very nice photographs.
