    1. Thanks, Anders! I would say they are not hibiscus but similar to peonia. I'm sure Mitch will know the name.

  3. Lovely selection. Passion flowers are so rewarding and the yellow roses and the last one are exquisite in colour and form.

  4. I love the detail of the passion flower and the romantic look of the middle one and color of the bottom, especially with the blue sky contrast!

  5. Hi Belita! I love your passion flower and the wonderful blue/green/purple combination made by its stamens and pistils (I am probably wrong there but maybe close). The pink is lovely against the blue sky but my favorite is the yellow nosegay against the adobe wall, such a striking photo!! See how I cheat by calling it a "nosegay" because it may be a rose but I am not sure. Beautiful !!!

  6. Hi Belita!! Three beautiful shots for this week's theme. My favourite is the first shot. Passion Flowers are one of my all-time favourite flowers, I love their colours and patterns. The mellow yellow of the second shot is really nice. I think you may be right, it does look related to the peony family. The pink of the flower in the third shot looks great against the blue of the sky.

  7. Hi Belita. You contributed great images for the theme. This is the first time that I saw an image of a passion flower. Some of the other flowers look like peonies.

  8. Wonderful shots, Belita. The first one is my favorite. We called those May Pops when I was a child. You can eat the seeds from the big oval pods. My mother would pinch off some of the pieces so that they looked like ballerinas or a man taking a siesta under a sombrero. They grew like crazy in the country.

The yellow against the white wall is striking and oh so romantic, and I love the pink flowers lifting their faces to the sun.
