Picture This 191 - My Favourite Things

Congratulations to Nico for the wonderful seashore photo and thanks to Marianne for the good idea on the theme. How international are we, Italy and South Africa produce picture this.

 And here is the Swiss contribution. Let's start with my favourite watch. I have had this for many years. I always wanted one. A Swiss brought the Swiss ethnic series out. Each model depicting a Kanton of Switzerland. Mr. Swiss bought me this for Christmas and after a complete revision last year I am still wearing it every day (although I also have a gold watch but only for special occasions). This model depicts the Kanton of Schwyz.

Being in Solothurn in Switzerland the past 44 years, the place does grow on you and I really love it. Here is a view of the St. Urs cathedral taken from the Market street on market day. It is really an imposing building.

And I just love this meadow of wild flowers. It is just next to my garden and is the result of just leaving nature to do its own thing. It is not allowed to be mowed down until after the flowers have seeded. That way we are assured of a meadow of wild flowers every year.

    Hi Pat !! Thanks for your contributions from the Swiss branch of International Picture This :-)) That's a really beautiful watch. St Urs cathedral is a very imposing building!! It really towers over the town. I love wild flower meadows and I think it's great you have one so close to your home.

    Well, that watch is really beautiful... Have never seen anything like that. Love those edelweiss flowers... Would like to visit that market... must be very different from the usual ones we have in Portugal... lovely meadow of wild flowers..

    Wow, I think if I had that watch I would never take it off. What a terrific job you have done to capture the details of its beauty. A grand cathedral and a great plan for wildflowers.

    Three fantastic shots Pat. Love the watch and the wildflowers.

    I threw 3pkts of wildflower seeds in a patch that I wanted that look and none of them did a darn thing!. I was not amused. LOL

    You are so right about our International Picture This. If we had to name our countries, from where we were posting, would really be something. I must try to do a list. Wish we could get Sonny to join in from India, but she is so busy with her FB and other assignments.

    I love your Swiss contributions, my favourite is the meadow, but am so surprised not to see any furry tails anywhere, not even a whisker. Did the 3 darlings go on holiday?? *smile*

      My furry chiefs do not regard theirselves as "things" coming from origines with a higher intelligence than the common humans. Their superior race do not allow contributions with favourite things, they would be more at home in "What makes the world go around", or "Einstein's teachers".
