Picture This #203 ~ Fantasy Factory

Many thanks to Debby for hosting this week. Just in case anyone is confused by the title of the theme....just to clarify, Debby is looking for photos of 'creativity'. It can be art, sculpture, buildings, whatever......as long as it's been created to be different, unusual, colourful.....something that stands out from the everyday.

Here are my three:

1) Floral Frog. This fellow is made out of flowers!! Taken at the Bellagio, Las Vegas.

2) Window Art Abstract. Taken at a display of 'Window Art' at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.

3) Funky Cat. I saw this brightly painted sculpture at, of all places, Lowell Astronomical Observatory, Flagstaff, Arizona.

  2. lol, thanks for the clarifications, Mitch!

I love your very colorful picks for this theme. The frog is totally kewlsome!

The window art is unusual. Some of it looks like finger painting, but some of it looks like material stitched together. Is it something that is painted onto a window pane?

I like your funky cat the best! That's what I'm talkin' about!

    1. Hi Debby!! Thought I'd better put in a little clarification, I know folks sometimes quickly drop by and take their cue from the title then come back later to read and view.

All the examples of window-art were actually painted by the artists onto windows at the NWM in Swansea. Some were abstract, like this one, some looked like more conventional paintings.

I was a bit surprised to find that funky cat at the Lowell Observatory. Not what you usually expect to find at a place like that!! LOL.

  3. Hi Mitch, 3 great pictures. Las Vegas does fantasy very well, and I love your choice of the chrysanthemum frog. I also am in love with funky kitty, with the solar system and stars painted on him. My favorite is the middle because it made me stop and look and puzzle.

    1. Thanks Belita. They had several different 'floral creatures' on display that day, but the frog was my favourite. They also had bees, ants and snails!!

  7. Love the frog. A place called Bellagio - I stayed a few days in Bellagio with Mr. Swiss, but it is a wonderful village on the Lake of Como. The window art is great and my three felines just love the cat and asked if they can be dyed blue as well. Such a good composition.

  9. I really like that funky cat, very crisp and clear, the frog is cute (must have taken a while to do that), the window art reminds me of blue jeans.
