Picture This #205 ~ Green

Hi everyone, this is Mitch, and I'll be your host for this week. Summer is now in full swing in the Northern Hemisphere, and the main colour to be seen is GREEN. Everywhere you look.....trees in full leaf, grass growing faster than you can mow it...... green plants topped with colourful flowers. So that's your theme for this week.....all things GREEN!! It doesn't have to be plants though....anything that is green is good!!

Before I get on to my three shots, just a reminder and a request. Please remember that not all members are able to post at the weekend, some have to post several days after the host-theme is posted, and these members don't always get the number of visits/comments as those posting at the weekend. So please remember to drop by later in the week and catch up with the late posts. Many thanks :-))

Ok, here are my three photos:

1) Sunlight through a Gunnera leaf.

2) An irridescent green Weevil. I've never seen one this colour before!!

3) Water droplets on a green leaf.

  1. My FAVORITE color!!! Wonderful photos. Pretty little weevil. Do they do a lot of damage?

I really love the one of the water droplets on the leaf.

    1. Thanks Debby :-)) As far as I know, this variety of weevil is not destructive to plants or crops.

  2. I love green too and it has so many different shades. Your top picture is a study not only in green but also texture. Really amazing. I like the green weevil and, like Debby, I wonder what it likes. The water droplets are so pretty, like gems.

    1. Hi Benni !! The good thing about Gunnera leaves is that they are huge, so you don't have to go macro to get a shot like this. As far as I know he's not an 'evil weevil'. LOL.

I'm trying to encourage everyone who takes part in a particular challenge to visit/comment on all the entries for that challenge, wherever possible.

  4. Wow - love the irridescent chlorofyll green of the first and third shots. The sedate colour of the beetle is fabulous too.

    1. Thanks Anders :-)) The weevil was a bit if a surprise, as I'd never seen one that colour before. Most of the ones I see normally are plain brown or black colours.

  5. Lovely green colours, Mitch, nice shots, like the light through the leaf, really nice and that little weevl sure is interesting.

Your are right about visiting the late posts as well, it is only polite to the other members of the group, who might already have visited yours, but have not had time to post.. Another thing I would like to mention, is to go back to your own post and comment or answer questions that might have arisen from your fellow members comments and also to thank them for visiting and commenting.

I am late as per usual, have got my photos lined up for "I wonder..............." was away for the weekend as you know and had a hectic busy week, no time to look for entries either, will get there as well and will try to get my green up, though not much green to be seen here at the moment, mostly yellows , orange and reds. Sunshine and blue skies, so not even a low temp of 5 deg C this morning, could dampen my mood

    See you all later.

  8. Three great photos. the light shining through the leaf in the first one is very illuminating. Like the weevil, we get them all colours here. The water drops are a very good catch.
I also try to comment on all photos and am looking through the week if something new arrives. It might be I miss the odd one, but sometimes life even gets hectic for a golden oldie.

    1. Thanks Belita :-)) Glad you liked the theme, I guessed that with your love of golf, you'd have at least one shot taken on a course. It seems my third shot is the most popular of the three, going by the comments I have had :-))
