PT CCXVII - Many Or Few

The Tunnan fighterplane served with distinction in both the defense of Sweden and in its service abroad, most notably in the Congo Conflict.

The Draken fighter-planes were few in number but protected the many which depended on its speed and weapons for the defense of the airspace of Sweden.

The SK60 which stands for Trainer 60 has been the plane most pilots in the 70s in made their first flights with before graduating to the Draken or the Viggen. Unfortunately I do not have a proper photo of it so I hope you forgive my use of a photo of a photo of the plane.

  1. Three good photos of Swedish planes. By the way the Swiss government have bought Gripen planes from Sweden. They are completely new and there is quite a discussion going on in Switzerland about them at the moment.

    1. Yes they finally got a couple of them sold. It's been long in the coming and through many disappointing rejections. One could just wonder if it was worth all the billions spent on its developement. They could have had a lot of army units and ships for those kronor.

  3. Hi Anders, I was really intrigued by your photos and showed them to my husband who is knowledgeable about aircraft. My favorite is the middle one which looks exceptionally sleek and fast.
